To mark the Year of Italian Culture in the United States, Florence’s historic library, Gabinetto Vieusseux, a little gem tucked away in a corner of Palazzo Strozzi (see TF 150 at http://tinyurl.com/klngkww), is presenting a lecture series on Italy’s literary greats.

Boccaccio, Calvino and Machiavelli are just a few of the literati covered by the Writers of Italy program, organised in collaboration with Centro Studi Aldo Palazzeschi and Syracuse University. With the goal of serving Italian and American students, as well as other study-abroad students, lectures are in ‘accessible’ Italian. The next lecture, November 13, at 5.30pm, is on Italo Calvino.
