In addition to headliners Sting and Carlos Santana, the 2015 Pistoia Blues Festival has announced that the Counting Crows will perform.

A staple of the San Francisco music scene, Counting Crows will take to the stage on July 3 in piazza del Duomo, the centre of most festival activity.

This is a return to Italy for the band, which has had successful shows in Padua and Milan in previous years. This is currently the first of two Italian dates for 2015: the second concert is scheduled for July 4 in Rome’s Auditorium Parco della Musica.

Originally from Berkeley, California, and headed by lead singer and pianist Adam Duritz, the group has been praised for its innovative fusion of rock, blues and folk. Though best known for its 1998 alternative rock hit ‘Mr. Jones,’ the band will play tracks from its latest album, Somewhere Under Wonderland, in addition to fan favourites.

Tickets are on sale at www.TicketOne.it and www.boxol.it. Seats start at 40 euro; standing-room-only spots are currently available for 35 euro. Tickets are still available for the headline acts.
