On Sunday, January 7, amateur women tennis players from clubs all over Tuscany will take to the courts in Calenzano, west of Florence, to raise funds for women’s shelter Artemisia.

The afternoon will begin at 1pm with a reflection before play starts at 2pm at Profession Tennis Park (via di Le Prata 6, Calenzano). The event has received the support of UISP, an association established in 1948 that encourages sports for everyone.

“While we have held other socially driven initiatives in the past, this tournament is one that we felt especially compelled to organize,” comments organizers Cinzia Masi and Daniele Turco. “We have brought together women from many different tennis clubs for the purpose of saying stop to violence against women.”

All are welcome to watch the tournament. For more information, call Daniele Turco +39 340 9802143 or Cinzia Masi +39 338 2222748.
