The American University of Florence has achieved accreditation from the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE). Located on corso dei Tintori, AUF is the first private institution in Italy to achieve the accreditation, which is the result of a process that certifies full compliance with the academic standards of American universities.

AUF is dedicated to the education of Italian and international students, with a mission of “enriching students through cultural integration, community engagement and experiential learning“, working to create a bridge between the international academic system and the cultural, social and human heritage of Florence.

The occasion was marked with a celebration on January 23 at Palazzo Borghese, attended by the president of the American University of Florence, Gabriella Ganugi, Mayor of Florence, Sara Funaro, and the Consul General of the United States, Daniela Ballard. The evening provided an occasion to strengthen the bonds between the university, local institutions and the international context in which the university operates.
