Hosted at the Innovation Center of the Fondazione CR Firenze in piazza del Cestello, the newly established Generation AI Academy is opening registrations for its free AI Essentials courses, set to begin on April 13.

The initiative, developed by Fondazione CR Firenze in collaboration with Nana Bianca and Base Digitale, and supported by main partner Intesa Sanpaolo, aims to make artificial intelligence accessible to all. A total of 200 places are available across 10 classes open to adult residents of Florence and its metropolitan area. No prior technical knowledge is required.
Participants can choose between two attendance formats: weekday evening sessions or a mixed schedule combining one evening class with a Saturday morning lesson. The course is structured into six modules, each consisting of four lessons. Topics will include understanding how AI works and its limitations, mastering prompt writing and comparing different AI models. The goal is to foster digital independence in both professional and everyday contexts.
Lessons (in Italian) will be coordinated by Lorenzo Sciadini, a designer and professional trainer, and led by experts who work daily with AI technologies. A strong emphasis is placed on hands-on learning, with practical exercises introduced within the first 15 minutes of each class. All tools used during the course will be free and open source.
