Last night, we got together to mark the launch of The Florentine’s November 60th Flood Anniversary Issue and the vernissage of Tender Monuments at Palazzo Bartolini Salimbeni, which is on show until November 8.

The event included a live interview with Irish-Italian multidisciplinary artist Vittoria Colonna and the Brazil-born, Sicily-based artist Cristine Balarine.

The works weave together materials like concrete, fishing nets and the wardrobe of a loved one, embracing the centuries-old palazzo in an intriguing exploration of permanency and our preparedness in the face of potential catastrophes.
