On June 4 and 5, internationally acclaimed chef Akira Back will return to Akira Back Florence for two special evenings celebrating his signature culinary vision. Hosted inside W Florence, the events will offer guests an immersive gastronomic experience featuring a dedicated tasting menu and the rare opportunity to meet the chef in person.

Originally from Seoul and formerly a professional snowboarder, Akira Back has become one of the most recognized figures in contemporary Asian cuisine thanks to his bold and innovative approach. Today, he oversees an international portfolio of 28 Japanese and Korean-inspired restaurants, including the Michelin-starred Dosa by Akira Back.

Akira Back Florence opened within W Florence on November 29, 2025, bringing the chef’s distinctive culinary philosophy to the Tuscan capital. The restaurant combines creativity, tradition and influences drawn from the chef’s personal journey, resulting in a menu that confidently pushes boundaries with every course. Guests are invited on a culinary journey accompanied by curated beverage pairings and set within an elegant environment enriched by colourful artworks created by the chef’s mother.

The two evenings on June 4 and 5 are designed to go beyond the traditional dining experience. Guests will be able to choose between a tasting menu, including vegetarian options, or an à la carte selection, while also discovering the inspiration and storytelling behind Chef Back’s creations through personal interaction with the chef himself. The experience will also feature unexpected details and moments designed to surprise guests from beginning to end.

The event promises a rare opportunity to experience high-end Japanese-Korean cuisine crafted by one of the international dining scene’s leading names, in a refined setting where gastronomy, art and design seamlessly converge.
