The Regione Toscana offers the public a wonderful opportunity to discover little known places in Florence, combining the art and music. This Sunday morning, visit the Palazzo Guadagni Strozzi Sacrati, the seat of the President of Tuscany, with free guided tours (in Italian) at 9.30am and again at 10am. A classical concert from pianist Marco Mantovani follows, with music from Beethoven, Brahms and Prokofiev. CINEMA/ Documentary time

This celebration of documentary films includes a co-production workshop, presenting projects and rough cuts from international experts and a chance to meet the directors. The festival opens, on December 28, with the film Last Hijack, in which filmmakers combine animation and raw footage to tell the story of Mohamed, a wealthy Somali pirate while at sea, but another average man while on land. www.festivaldeipopoli.org
