Paperless tickets

The ticket reservation system is set to change. After having booked tickets via the call centre (+39 055 294883) or online, museum goers will receive a code by email, which they will be able to download to their mobile phone. Sometime before the end of May, when the system is said to enter into effect, visitors can enter the hallowed halls by showing the code without requiring a printed ticket. The change will not affect anyone who has pre-purchased tickets.

Nights at the museum

Every Tuesday from March 26 to December 17, the Uffizi Gallery will be open in the evenings to allow visitors to experience the magic of the masterpieces by night. The opening hours will be extended from 6.30pm (the current closing time) to 9.30pm, with last entrance at 8.30pm. It is hoped that Florentines will make the most of this after-hours opportunity.

Monday opening hours

The Uffizi and the Boboli Gardens will open on Monday, April 1 and 29, June 24 and December 30.
