It’s golden hour as the Tuscan sun sets on the River Arno and gourmands take front-row seats for an unforgettable Wine Dinner at Villa La Massa.

On September 3, the elegant Il Verrocchio Restaurant on the grounds of the historic five-star luxury hotel just outside Florence will welcome diners for a memorable culinary experience centred on some of Tuscany’s finest wines.

Bolgheri, Chianti Classico and Montalcino are the three wine regions showcased in the dinner catered by resident chef Stefano Ballarino. The experience begins with a refreshing beef carpaccio framed with autumnal salad and grapes from Chianti, followed by ravioli dressed with peposo, a local peppery beef stew, Tuscan kale and stracchino cheese, while pork with pumpkin and porcini mushrooms make up the main course. A luscious lemon dessert will bring the curtain down on the delicious proceedings.

But the focus firmly remains on the wines:

Argentiera: Villa Donoratico 2021, Argentiera 2021, Ventaglio 2018

Fontodi: Chianti Classico 2021, Vigna del Sorbo 2020, Flaccianello 2020

Val di Suga: Brunello 2019, Brunello Poggio al Granchio 2019, Brunello Vigna Spuntali 2018

The dinner costs 130 euro per person.
