In Florence, where the past and present seamlessly intertwine, a unique and inspiring collaboration is about to unfold—one that unites art, history and philanthropy. The initiative, led by the non-profit organization Ellevate Her, is set to host a series of remarkable events aimed at empowering women while celebrating Florence’s unparalleled artistic legacy.

Melissa Ferrer Burke, CEO of Ellevate Her

Founded by mother-daughter duo Brooke Ferrer and Melissa Ferrer Burke, Ellevate Her stands as a beacon of strength and healing for women overcoming trauma. More than just a non-profit organization, it is a sanctuary dedicated to personal growth, empowerment and healing through holistic approaches. The organization’s mission is deeply rooted in providing women with a safe space to rediscover themselves and embrace their full potential. Having personally overcome trauma, Melissa Ferrer Burke, CEO of Ellevate Her, brings her knowledge and experience to the forefront, using art and creative expression as a means of healing. Her entrepreneurial spirit has helped her create a vibrant, collaborative space where women can express themselves and elevate their lives.

For Melissa, the arts have always been a transformative force. She passionately believes in their power to help women reclaim their voices and overcome challenges. Her dedication to this cause led her to establish Ellevate Her as both a foundation and a healing centre for single women in Florida. There, women have access to a variety of programs designed to aid them in their journey of recovery and self-discovery. These initiatives include art therapy, educational workshops and holistic healing techniques, all geared toward empowering women to pursue their dreams and realise their full potential. Ellevate Her is not just a physical space, but a supportive community where women are given the tools and encouragement to rise above their past and create a brighter future.

On October 26, Ellevate Her will host its inaugural fundraising gala in Florence. This elegant evening will not only serve to raise essential funds for the foundation, but will also mark the beginning of an exciting partnership with Florence. The gala will feature a silent auction, showcasing works by world-renowned photographer Robert Farber, alongside Melissa Ferrer Burke and artist Myra Fiori, in partnership with event partners Fornaciai Art Gallery and Monastero Domenicano di Santa Maria della Neve. Held at Hotel Number Nine and its exclusive House of Nine Members Club, the event promises to be an evening of inspiration and impact. With the funds raised, Ellevate Her will continue to expand its programs, providing even more women with the opportunity to heal, grow and thrive. This night of elegance and purpose is more than just an event—it is a celebration of the strength, resilience and creativity that define the women of Ellevate Her.

“Through this bridge between Florida and Florence, Ellevate Her seeks to empower women to embark on their own journeys of healing and transformation,” says Melissa. “Set against the Renaissance’s legacy of rebirth, we hope to inspire the women we serve to rediscover themselves and their potential.”

Ellevate Her is proud to have their sister chapter and location in Tuscany as well as Florida with board member Dennis Clark as the bridge between the two states.

Join us for an unforgettable evening in Florence. Together, we can elevate the lives of women through the power of art, community and healing.
