Held in a packed Teatro del Sale, 17 winners took away awards sponsored by Tuscan food businesses. In a surprise win, Tripperia Vegana Tanotto triumphed with its vegan take on tripe in the Best Florentine Street Food category, while two Michelin star chef Valeria Piccini of Caino (Montemerano, in southern Tuscany) was awarded for her career achievements.

Hosted by Il Forchettiere’s founder and editor Marco Gemelli alongside public speaker Adriana Tancredi, Florence’s food scene was out in full force. The name of every winner was announced from a shortlist of five, which had undergone a voting process by 80-plus food professionals and a public vote on the Il Forchettiere’s website.
