From March 15 to 17 at Florence’s Stazione Leopolda, the Taste food festival offers visitors a unique experience. Taste is a gastronomic tour that explores different cultures in addition to celebrating the natural goodness of Italian food. Sleek and stylish, as only an event organized by Pitti Immagine can be, the Taste festival makes innovative use of exhibition space, and transports visitors to a culinary paradise where they can explore traditional flavors, intriguing foods and extravagant taste sensations from over 130 niche producers from all over Italy. Quality, authenticity and originality are key: from the finest beef, aged cheeses, chocolate prepared with the world’s best cacao, innovative balsamic vinegars to delicate desserts and other after-dinner treats.

New to the event this year are three areas dedicated to beverages: distilled and homemade liquors, artisan beer and dessert wines. Also not to miss are Taste Tools, offering every kitchen and design tool imaginable; Taste Press, featuring the best food and wine magazines from all over the world; and Taste Ring, providing meetings and debates on the hottest topics in the culinary world.

Seminars include ‘C’era una volta’, dedicated to the rediscovery of dishes and drinks from Italian history; a lesson on how to cook a perfect steak by Tuscany’s resident butcher-poet, Dario Cecchini; and an informative lecture on how to make grocery shopping healthy and fun while saving a few euro in the process.

The best part of the fair? A stroll through the marketplace where you can purchase your favorites. It’s a veritable gastronomic department store!
